Search Engine Comparison Tool

A new search engine comparison tool has been launched at Thumbshots.com. The tool allows you to compare how the major seach engines rank the same keyword or keyword phrase.

On the front page, the facts of online searching are made clear - 80% of users scan only the first 2 pages of results, and well over half all Internet searches are conducted by Google and Yahoo (which incorporates Google's web results anyway). Once again illustrating how important it is to optimize your site for submission to the 'Daddy'!

The search engine comparison tool can compare the Top 100 results from AlltheWeb, AltaVista, Google, MSN, Teoma, Wisenut and Yahoo!

This tool is useful in not only showing how the major search engines treat given phrases or words, but also shows how much overlap there is for many keyword phrases - many Top 10 rankings for certain words are similar across engines.
